It’s a good thought experiment to imagine (a service category) didn’t exist today, AI came first, and you’re now thinking about creating a new service that serves a specific purpose using the power of AI.
For example, what if Salesforce didn’t exist today, AI somehow came first, and you’re imagining creating a software that brings brands and customers closer? Or what if Instagram didn’t exist today and GenAI is here now, how can we create a new platform that creates new meaningful human relationships using photos and images, yet leveraging GenAI?
When paradigm shifting technologies come out (web, mobile, etc), initially we see services that mimic existing services or human behaviors and shoehorn them into the new technology. But in the ensuing years, we see new services emerging, truly leveraging the new technology and creating completely new categories, often disrupting existing players (although they might initially look very different) and becoming more impactful and bigger companies.
