Japanese fans clean up the stadium after a match; Some hooligans in New York set school buses on fire after the Knicks won the NBA Finals.
Maybe we should just host every major sporting event only in Japan. 🙂
Jokes aside – it’s all about culture and standards. No one is born to be cleaning up stadiums or vandalizing property. Those behaviors are learned. They come from the norms and expectations that people grow up around.
That’s why education matters. And it’s the same for startups. Whether leaders realize it or not, every decision they make teaches people what “good” looks like. Culture isn’t what you write in the handbook; it’s what people learn by watching what everyone else does.
