From last night’s grudge match that was World Series Game 3 (18 innings, a literal doubleheader!), the most memorable moment for me wasn’t Freeman’s game-ending home run, Edman’s flawless fielding, or Ohtani reaching base nine times on a 4-for-4 night (each of those being crazy on its own).
What stuck with me the most was Yamamoto warming up in the bullpen, asking the coach to put him in, just two days after throwing a complete game.
Whatever it takes to win. Whatever it takes to help the team. Let your actions speak.
It often takes one person to set the tone for a team’s culture. Some teams are lucky enough to have that one player whose winner’s mentality lifts everyone else up.
