I once found the story of Jack Dorsey bringing only his phone to work fascinating – it felt like such a people-centric approach I wanted to emulate someday.
But these days, I’m not so sure – I guess I really love my setup.
I love my Mac Studio, MacBook Pro, the Windows 11 PC with 64GB of RAM. I’m far more productive with a large monitor and a great keyboard. I enjoy meeting people and talking with them, but I also write tons of emails and Slack messages, as writing is often a better way for me to express myself clearly and leaves a proverbial paper trail. I also like using Figma to mock things up – it’s much more effective than just describing a product concept with words.
To me, a computer with a large monitor is like a workhorse truck, while a smartphone is more like a motorcycle. And I don’t think I can give up on my workhorse truck just yet. “Bringing only phone to work” is, IMHO, slightly overrated. 😅
